COMPUTER GAMES

I have a good, up-to-date video card and adequate memory and I wanna start trying to play games. NO ONLINE GAMES, though. My interwebs are sporadic. (Plus, my BF line item veto-ed WOW). But I've also not played any computer games for almost 8 years, with the exception of basic flashy ones online.

SO WHAT games should I get, borrow, etc?

Things I won't do:
Sims
WOW

Things i've done before and quite liked:
Puzzle/strategy games (everything from chuzzles to pop cap type games, etc)
Card Games (play a lot of spider solitaire and I like strategy like that)

I'm also happy to do dungeon crawly-type games (I play a LOT of side-scrollers in my DS gaming life), but don't like things that are upwards of 10+ hot keys.

I'm also quite happy to play things that are several years old that you guys aren't playing anymore (since it is still new to me).
